about us

My name is Jenna Lambert, a French settled in London for more than 4 years.
During an introduction to beekeeping, I have discovered that the number of urban beekeeping is continuously growing due to a people’s and companies’ keen interest for sustainable development and beekeeping. Yet, the food available for the increasing number of beehives is not sufficient and for this reason, it puts all bees and pollinators under threat.
In honour of the joys of living
We are all filled and inspired by those we love and by the days, feelings and images that leave their imprint on us.
I remember spending my childhood in my family gardens and spending hours looking at nature and insects make their lives. It has always been restful and inspirational to me.
My grand-parents' farm was set in a bucolic environment that has miraculously remained intact for over a century. This haven of tranquility has always been an ideal getaway for a sunny afternoon where the stresses of city living and everyday realities were completely left behind. Somewhere where all the family and generations could reunite. A place away from the frantic place of our "modern" lives, in which we are all so "connected" and yet disconnected from the essential link that keeps us in touch with nature. Their farm and especially the garden has always been for me a place devoted to nature, time and consciousness.
Les Butineuses is the first step in the promise I made myself to follow my grand-parent's footsteps in living in harmony with nature and to cultivate a lifestyle that invites you to take your time. Slow down.
“A happy life is one which is in accordance with its own nature.”
Seneca
Take the time to look around. Let nature inspire you.
The simple statement that we are our choices inspired me to find a response to the unprecedented time we are experiencing. May we never forget what defines us.
While I have always had the strong belief that we must return to the essentials and we should favour a sustainable and holistic living, I decided to turn the difficult time of being lockdown into positive one and put into action my desire to create Les Butineuses.
In this pandemic time, giving a little bit back and appreciating what life offers us every day has become more challenging. Growing your own plants can be seen as a therapeutic solution.
With the aim that each of our decisions and actions must resonate in each of us, I have created Les Butineuses:
- In response to anxiety and stress that the current situation is creating.
- In the belief that we can and must be more self-reliant
Our mission is to offer organic seeds and plants in keeping with the values my grand-parents and I hold dear: authenticity, respect and simplicity.
Together, we can make a difference
With your help, I hope to move towards a more level playing field, to help broaden people horizons, and to shake things up – while making a real difference.
My leitmotiv if to make tomorrow a better place. Because I believe we can all make a difference.
“Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it is important that you do it”
Ghandi
